§ Mr. MarplesA roundabout is being constructed at a cost of £30,000 in order to make this junction safer by eliminating a dangerous left-hand stagger on the Class I road. This improvement is being carried out at the same time as a widening of the road westward from the junction at a cost of a further £57,000. Traffic lights would be unsuitable at this intersection because of the volume and speed of trunk road traffic.
