§ Sir D. EcclesOne hundred and six authorities entered 15,440 secondary modern school candidates for Ordinary level of the General Certificate of Education examination in the summer of 1959. The total number of pupils in secondary modern schools in January, 1959, was 1,595,559. I am sending the hon. Member the detailed figures.
