§ Mr. Iremongerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when the Governor of Fiji will receive the Report of the Burns Commission.
Mr. lain MacleodI regret that in a supplementary answer I inadvertently misinformed the House when I told the hon. Member for Govan (Mr. Rankin) on 17th December, 1959, that the Burns Commission had already reported. What I intended to say was that the Commission had already returned from Fiji. In fact, the Commission are now about to complete their Report, and allowing time for printing and carriage, the Report should reach the Governor early in March.
