Mr. Atkinsasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that it is not in the interests of road safety to allow vehicles to stand on the streets at night without lights in times of poor visibility and fog; and whether he is contemplating any alteration to the regulations in this connection.
§ Mr. HayThere is clearly danger in leaving vehicles unlit on roads in conditions of poor visibility or fog. The difficulty is to define these conditions in Regulations. We prefer to leave the remedy to the good sense of motorists, reinforced by timely Press and broadcast announcements.
