§ Mr. MarplesIt is not possible to provide the information required with any precision, but, on a very broad calculation, the capital liability of British Railways at 31st December, 1959 may be assessed at some £1,300 million and the deficits on British Railways for the years 1948 to 1958 at about £300 million.
