HC Deb 02 February 1960 vol 616 cc115-6W
81. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Works, in view of the decision to continue London's experimental Pink Zone, why he has decided to close the special parking facilities in the Royal Parks which began when the Pink Zone was brought into operation.

Lord John Hope

These facilities were made available specifically to help meet the special problems of Christmas traffic. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport and I agreed, after discussions, that, except for the Horse Guards Parade, they should be withdrawn at the end of the Christmas period.

85. Mr. Robert Cooke

asked the Minister of Works whether he will make a statement on the request of Westminster City Council for parking meters to be set up in the Royal Parks.

Lord John Hope

The Westminster City Council has made no such request. Certain reports that it had done so were inaccurate.
