§ Mr. Tilneyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what reply has been sent to the letter of 12th January, 1960, from the Town Clerk of Liverpool concerning the need for additional clerical employment in the Liverpool area, such as could be provided by the transfer of Government Departmental work.
§ Sir E. BoyleIt remains the policy of the Government to disperse Departmental work from London wherever possible, but agreements have been reached on the National Whitley Council about the future location of most of the offices which can be moved without loss 97W of efficiency. The Town Clerk of Liverpool has been so informed, and assured that the needs of Liverpool will nevertheless be borne in mind when new locations are being sought for Government offices.
