§ Mr. Fisherasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what arrangements he proposes for the provision of financial assistance to St. Lucia, in the Windward Islands, following damage caused by a hurricane in July this year.
Mr. MacleodI informed the House on 8th November that Her Majesty's Government are making a grant of $B.W.I. 1 million for the relief programme in St. Lucia. A Supplementary Estimate to provide the sum required in the current financial year will be laid before the House in due course. In the meantime advances will be made from the Civil Contingencies Fund as necessary.
