§ Mr. R. A. ButlerNearly 80 per cent. of boys are admitted to approved schools within one month after committal; but some boys and most girls may have a waiting period of up to two months or more. In deciding when to allow a girl home leave, I understand that the managers may take into account any period previously spent in a remand home. I am considering whether there is any guidance I can usefully give to managers on this matter in the present circumstances.
