HC Deb 21 December 1960 vol 632 c178W
76. Mr. Driberg

asked the Minister of Aviation if, in view of the constant increase in air traffic and the recent disasters in New York, Munich, and elsewhere, he will initiate a special review of the arrangements for air traffic control at all British airports, especially in foggy conditions; and if he will re-examine the possibility of bringing all movements of aircraft, military as well as civil, under a single controlling authority.

Mr. Rippon

No. As these arrangements are kept under constant review, no special inquiry is necessary. I am satisfied that for the United Kingdom an integrated civil and military control system is the right solution.
