65. Mr. Leeasked the Minister of Labour whether he will make a statement on the progress made in setting up a joint study group to discuss labour relations in the motor car industry.
§ Mr. HareI suggested to the Presidents of the Engineering and Allied Employers' National Federation and the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions in October that the two organisations might set up a joint study group or informal committee to consider the problems which cause 105W strikes in the motor manufacturing industry. The Employers' Federation have informed me that they are prepared to take action on this suggestion. The Confederation have asked me to meet representatives of their Executive Council to discuss certain points. I hope to do so this week.
