§ 57. Mr. E. Johnsonasked the Minister of Transport if he has given further consideration to the advantages of the expanded metal anti-dazzle fence on the M.1 motorway; and if he will extend it for the full length of the motorway, and have a similar fence erected on all motorways.
§ Mr. MarplesThis experimental screen has been found to have disadvantages as well as advantages. It is not yet established that in present traffic conditions there is a good case for bringing such a screen into general use on motorways. Pending further experience, I do not propose to extend the screen on the M.1 or install it on other motorways.
