Ian Orr-EwingFor the last completed scholarship competition there were 306 applicants from independent schools, 107 from direct grant schools, 246 from maintained grammar schools and 53 from nautical and other schools. Applications are not made separately for reserved cadetships which are awarded on the results of the scholarship competition.
