§ Mr. MaclayI have received a letter from one Scottish teacher suggesting that teachers' salaries should be raised because of the increases for police constables. In reply I have said that any change in the salaries of teachers in Scotland falls to be considered in the first instance by the National Joint Council to deal with the Salaries of Teachers in Scotland.
