Mr. McAddenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will withhold his sanction from local authorities seeking to use powers of compulsory purchase to acquire properties for subsequent resale to private developers without benefit to the original owners.
§ Mr. BrookeI could not give a general undertaking of this character. Owners whose property is compulsorily purchased now are of course, under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1959, entitled to compensation at the market value of it at the date of notice to treat.
