§ Sir D. EcclesThe number of newly trained specialist teachers in physical education entering the maintained schools each year has increased from 266158W in 1951 to 422 in 1960. During the last four years the number of qualified full-time teachers of physical education has increased from 3,391 to 4,713. Nineteen school swimming baths have been built out of public funds since the war, 23 are now under construction and 11 more are being planned.
