§ 77. Mr. Owenasked the Minister of Labour if, following his consultations with the Industrial Training Council, he will now make a statement on the progress made in the provision of an adequate apprenticeship scheme, and employment for young people.
§ Mr. P. ThomasApart from a few areas, the employment situation for young people is generally satisfactory in that a range of opportunities is open to them on leaving school. I am hopeful that following the Industrial Training Council's lead, industry will continue and indeed improve on, last year's increase in the number of apprenticeships.
