§ Mr. MarplesI recently circulated for comment a proposal to amend the regulations by prohibiting the placing of the control for the excess fuel device on diesel-engined vehicles within the reach of the driver, and thus preventing its misuse as a source of additional power at the expense of clouds of smoke. I am at present considering the views of those consulted.
