§ Sir D. EcclesThe Government's plans for the expansion of technological education are ahead of schedule, and facilities now exist either in universities or in colleges of technology for the training of all who wish to become qualified engineers and who have reached the necessary educational standards. The output of engineers in 1961 is expected to be almost 30 per cent. higher than that in 1958. A further expansion in the number of places is now under consideration.
