§ Mr. R. A. ButlerDuring the twelve months ended on 24th November, 1960, 325 convicted prisoners escaped from prison custody. Of these 66 escaped from security and 140 from outside parties and escorts at closed prisons; 8 escaped from a medium security prison; and 111 from open prisons. Twenty-nine are still at large.
