48. Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Minister of Health if he will cause inquiries to be made into the allocation of beds for non-emergency operation cases at the Walsall General, Sister Dora, Hospital as between fee-paying and National Health Service patients.

Miss Pitt

Beds are not allocated specifically for non-emergency surgical cases, but are used according to the urgency of admission. Since 1st January last 33 private and 501 National Health Service patients have been admitted as non-emergency surgical cases.

50. Mr. W. Wells

asked the Minister of Health how many gynaecological cases, other than pregnancies, are await- ing admission to the Manor Hospital, Walsall; and what delay is likely to ensue before all these cases are admitted.
