HC Deb 11 April 1960 vol 621 c91W
82. Miss Vickers

asked the Minister of Health why the new operating theatres at Greenbank Hospital, Plymouth, are to be fitted with Super-Hanalux lamps from Germany instead of Kelvin and Hughes lamps made in Great Britain; and what is the difference in the cost of these lamps.

Miss Pitt

I am informed that the regional hospital board, after consulting the hospital management committee, decided that the German lamp was preferable for this purpose. It costs £315—of which £39 is import duty—and the British lamp costs £270.
