§ Mr. P. ThomasThere were 18,478,000 employees in employment in England and 919,000 in Wales at mid-1959, the latest date for which there are separate figures. On 14th March, 1960, unemployment in England totalled 292,553 and in Wales, 28,768. The percentage rates of unemployment were 15 and 3.0, respectively.
