§ Mr. P. Browneasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement about the progress of negotiations with other members of the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation concerning bilateral agreements on passport-free travel.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerYes. Her Majesty's Government have signed agreements with the Governments of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands under which nationals of those countries, from 10th April, 1960, may come to this country without passports for social or holiday visits of up to three months. Instead of passports they will be able to use their identity cards in association with special visitors cards which are being printed and distributed by the British Travel and Holidays Association. The visitors cards will be available free of charge.
