HC Deb 04 April 1960 vol 621 c12W
87. Dr. Summerskill

asked the Minister of Health whether he will increase the United Kingdom contribution of £431,500 to the World Health Organisation having regard to the high incidence of disease, including malaria, in many countries for which the United Kingdom has responsibilities.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The United Kingdom contributions to the World Health Organisation's regular budget are assessed annually by the World Health Assembly and have increased by almost 50 per cent. between 1950 and 1960. The proposed budget for 1961 foreshadows a further increase of about 10 per cent. over 1960.
