HC Deb 04 April 1960 vol 621 c12W
81. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that case-finding rates of tuberculosis in industrial surveys in Stoke-on-Trent, through the medium of mass X-ray, have fallen sharply since 1952; and what action he will take to encourage the 30 per cent. of the adult population who have not volunteered for X-ray of the chest to do so.

Miss Pitt

Yes, and the incidence has also fallen sharply. It is for the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board to decide what further measures, if any, are required to encourage those who have not been X-rayed to volunteer.
