§ 85. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Health, if he will state the number of cancer patients in Wales during each of the past five years, and the comparative numbers of these who were admitted to hospital; and what plans he has for the provision of extra hospital beds in Wales for cancer patients.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithI regret that the information asked for in the first part of the Question is not available. With regard to the second part, I am advised that treatment for cancer patients is best provided in units at or attached to general hospitals; and the substantial general hospital building in hand in Wales will therefore provide improved facilities for them.
