asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how the United Kingdom delegate voted on the resolution before the United Nations expressing deep regret and concern that South Africa has not ended the policy of racial discrimination; which nations voted for the resolution; which against; and which nations abstained.

79. Mr. Healey

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how the United Kingdom delegate to the United Nations voted on the resolution regretting South Africa's refusal to abandon the policy of apartheid.

In the plenary meeting of the General Assembly on 17th November, France, Portugal and the United Kingdom opposed the resolution. Belgium, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands abstained from voting. Sixty-two member countries voted in favour of the resolution.
