HC Deb 26 November 1959 vol 614 cc69-70W
106. Dame Irene Ward

asked the Minister of Transport, having regard to the transfer of responsibility for shipbuilding and shipping matters to the Ministry of Transport, what decision he has taken regarding the future of the Galbraith Committee on the marine application of nuclear power which was appointed by the First Lord of the Admiralty; and who is the present Chairman of the Committee.

Mr. Marples

The Galbraith Committee has completed its examination of the immediate problems connected with the development of nuclear propulsion for merchant ships and the Government are now considering its recommendations.

When decisions have been taken I shall consider whether the Committee should be reconstituted.
