HC Deb 24 November 1959 vol 614 cc21-2W
73. Mr. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what major hospital projects have been completed in Ayrshire in the past five years; and what major hospital projects it is hoped to complete in the next five years.

Mr. Maclay

In the past five years, seven projects each costing over £10,000 have been completed at the following hospitals: Ailsa Hospital (3 schemes), Ballochmyle Hospital, Ayr County Hospital, Heathfield Hospital, and Glenafton Hospital. The total cost of these projects has been £180,000.

In the next five years, it is expected to complete the new out-patient department at Heathfield Hospital and a scheme for modernising operating theatres at Ballochmyle Hospital. With a view to the major redevelopment of the county's hospital services, other projects are under consideration.
