HC Deb 18 November 1959 vol 613 cc145-6W
Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the President of the Board of Trade to what extent the continued expansion of British exports to China is likely to be affected by his decision to impose greater restrictions on imports from China.

Mr. Maudling

The new quotas affect only about 10 per cent. of our imports from China and allow for an increase in these imports. I see no reason why our exports to China should be adversely affected.
