HC Deb 17 November 1959 vol 613 cc113-4W
99. Mr. Foot

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a statement on his consultations with the Governor of Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland.

Mr. Iain Macleod

In view of the importance of the affairs of Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland I was anxious to have the benefit of early and personal discussion with the Governments of those Territories. Our talks ranged over a wide field but I do not propose to make a general statement. There was no specific purpose in the consultations other than that I have stated.
