HC Deb 11 November 1959 vol 613 cc43-4W
45. Mr. Lindsay

asked the Postmaster-General the average waiting time before a telephone subscriber in Solihull can get "Trunks"; and how this compares with five years ago.

Mr. Bevins

Trunk calls made by Solihull exchange subscribers are dealt with at the Midland switchboard in Birmingham. The latest figures for the average waiting time at that switchboard were 10.3 seconds by day and 11.3 by night. The corresponding figures for 1954 were 12.6 and 12.0. I am trying to improve matters.
