§ Mr. Symondsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what is the number of building societies that have had advances under Part 1, Section 2, of 24W the House Purchase and Housing Act, 1959; what were the amounts received; and what was the rate of interest obtained from them.
§ Mr. H. Brooke51 building societies have notified me that they have made advances under the scheme, of which so far 11 have actually received advances totalling £1,547,859 from the Exchequer. Interest at 5 per cent. will be charged on these advances.
