HC Deb 05 November 1959 vol 612 c76W
76. Mr. Wade

asked the Minister of Health the reasons for the delay in proceeding with the building of a new general hospital at Lindley, Huddersfield; when building will commence; and when it is expected that the hospital will be completed.

Miss Pitt

I am not aware that there has been undue delay, bearing in mind the size of the project; but I know that the Leeds Regional Hospital Board is at present urgently re-appraising some aspects of the scheme in the light of certain changes in local circumstances since it was first planned. Building will start as soon as possible after this reappraisal has been completed. The hospital will necessarily take several years to complete.
