HC Deb 04 November 1959 vol 612 c54W
90. Lady Tweedsmuir

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether, at his forthcoming meeting with the Aberdeen Harbour Board, he will give consideration to making available a pontoon dock to replace the present No. 3 dock.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

In view of recent changes in departmental responsibility, the meeting with the Aberdeen Harbour Board will now be held at the Ministry of Transport. I had previously examined the possibility of the Admiralty providing a pontoon dock and found that we had one floating dock available for disposal. I understand, however, that it is too small in size and lifting capacity to suit Aberdeen.
