§ 96. Miss Harvie Andersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he proposes to authorise a start on the second Clyde tunnel.
§ Mr. MaclayI have today authorised Glasgow Corporation to accept a tender for the construction of the second of the twin tunnels under the Clyde at Whiteinch. The cost of this tunnel will be almost £4 million on which grant will be payable at the rate of 75 per cent. The contract will provide that it should be completed by mid-1963.
