§ Mr. R. A. ButlerSince 1st January, 1959, 71 prisoners have escaped from prison custody. Of these, 19 escaped from security at closed prisons, 12 from outside closed prisons, one from a medium security prison and 39 from open prisons. Ten are still at large.
