HC Deb 14 May 1959 vol 605 c189W
Mr. Hunter

asked the Postmaster-General what was the number of applicants waiting for telephone service at the Feltham and Hounslow exchanges in May of this year, and the comparative figures for May 1958.

Mr. Marples

For Feltham the present figure is 502, as compared with 426 a year ago; for Hounslow 868 now and 1,244 a year ago.

Nearly 1,000 telephones have been installed in these two areas in the past 12 months and the applications now outstanding include 608 in course of being met or under inquiry.
