HC Deb 14 May 1959 vol 605 c166W
65. Mr. Russell

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware of the growing concern at the increased number of burglaries in Wembley especially of business premises; how great is the shortage of police in the area; what are the prospects of reducing this crime; and whether he will publicise the ways in which the public can help the police.

Mr. R. A. Butler

The concern of Wembley Borough Council has been brought to my notice. The Commissioner of Police assures me that Wembley has its fair share of the available police resources and that they are deployed there to the best advantage with a view to preventing crime. Advice is already given to the public on the help they can give to the police.
