asked the Minister of Defence when he intends to recommend the issue of a new Royal Warrant on pensions.

Mr. Sandys

The Royal Warrant for the Army and the corresponding Prerogative Instruments for the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force to give increases in pension to retired members of the Services and their widows, in line with those proposed in the new Pensions (Increase) Bill, will be submitted to the Queen as soon as the Bill becomes law. The increases will be effective from the same date as the appointed day in the Bill.
