HC Deb 12 May 1959 vol 605 c127W
70. Mrs. Butler

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what action he proposes to take with regard to an inquiry into housing standards, with particular reference to private houses of less than the minimum standard for local authority dwellings.

Mr. H. Brooke

At my request a subcommittee of the Central Housing Advisory Committee has recently started to make a review of housing standards. This will cover privately-built houses as well as houses provided by public authorities. The task is a large and difficult one, and will take time to complete.
