HC Deb 11 May 1959 vol 605 c83W
11. Mr. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that long playing gramophone records containing recorded speeches of Hitler, Goering and Himmler are being exported from the United States into Germany, and that these records containing photographs of Nazi leaders, swastikas, etc., are being circulated in the British sector of Berlin; and what action he has taken or proposes to take, either by approaching the government of the United States to prevent the export of these records to, or by approaching the Federal Government of Germany to prevent their circulation in, the British sector of Berlin.

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

As my hon. Friend stated in his reply on 4th May, this is essentially a matter for the German authorities. I understand that the Berlin police are likely to confiscate any copies of the record that may appear there.
