§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will order an inquiry into the circumstances of the killing of Africans at Nkata Bay by Bren gun fire, the shooting of a schoolboy at Misuku, and the shooting of a woman by the security forces.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydNo. The facts are sufficiently established by the inquests for which the law provides.
At Nkata Bay the weapons used were a Sten gun from which nine rounds were fired, and rifles from which 18 rounds were fired. As I indicated in my reply to the hon. Member for Lanarkshire, North (Miss Herbison) on 5th May, there was no Bren gun fire.
I have no evidence that any schoolboy was shot at Misuku.
