§ 75. Mrs. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps he is taking to deal with malnutrition amongst Africans in Northern Rhodesia, particularly among children in the Lusaka urban area.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe Northern Rhodesian Government subsidise the work of local authorities in child welfare, diet advice and the follow up of cases of malnutrition appearing in clinics and hospitals. This work is supplemented by the activities of missions. This applies to Lusaka as well as other areas. The Lusaka Municipal Council has recently endorsed a report recommending a free supply of milk.
