§ 85. Mrs. Jannerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much money has been collected in respect of fines for litter dumping since the passing of the Litter Act and if he is satisfied that there has been a reduction in the amount of litter in streets and parks.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerUp to the end of 1958, 241 prosecutions under the Litter Act had resulted in fines. I regret that I have no information about the amounts of the fines. I understand that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government considers that there are signs of some reduction in the amount of litter left about, though there is much room for further improvement.
