HC Deb 26 March 1959 vol 602 c158W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is aware that excessive quantities of timber are being imported into the United Kingdom owing to failure to make use of available home-grown supplies; and whether he will give an estimate of the value of timber imported during the last five years which could have been supplied from United Kingdom sources.

Mr. John Hare

It is quite impossible to estimate how much, if any, timber imports in the last five years could have been replaced by home supplies.
