§ 63. Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied that the period of five years allowed for the modification of existing X-ray apparatus used in shops in order that they may conform with safety requirements does not expose staff and 162W customers to the harmful effects of radiation.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerYes. I am advised that the possibility of harm to individuals even from unmodified machines is remote, and the main object of the new requirements is to reduce to a minimum the addition made by these machines to natural radiation.
