asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that British ships are being taken to foreign ports for repair work which could be carried out by British workers unemployed in British ports; and whether, in order to discourage this practice, he will take steps to withdraw the investment allowances from the firms concerned.

I can see no sufficient ground for denying taxation reliefs to concerns which have ships repaired abroad.
