Mr. H. Wilsonasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the names of the 37 firms which have received building approval in the Merseyside area for 1958, the types of industry in which they are engaged, and the part of Merseyside in which each is expected to build.
§ Mr. J. RodgersIt is not the practice of the Board of Trade to give the names of firms to which industrial development certificates have been granted without their express agreement. The industrial grouping of the 37 firms is:
Engineering … 13 cases Food and drink … 10 cases Chemicals … 6 cases Paper and printing … 3 cases Miscellaneous … 5 cases Twenty-two certificates were granted for Liverpool, eight for Birkenhead, five for Bootle and one each for Kirkby and West Lancashire Rural District.
